After flying high against the Latta Vikings on Thursday, the Allendale-Fairfax Tigers came back down to earth. Allendale-Fairfax took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of C.A. Johnson on Friday. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Allendale-Fairfax was outscored by C.A. Johnson in the second.
C.A. Johnson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Milton McCray out in front who scored 11 points. The game was McCray's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lamont Jackson, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Allendale-Fairfax has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for C.A. Johnson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Allendale-Fairfax will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. C.A. Johnson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mullins at 1:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Mullins presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than C.A. Johnson in South Carolina (Mullins is ranked 94th, while C.A. Johnson is ranked 212th).
