Oasis is 0-4 against Port Charlotte since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Sharks will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Oasis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Oasis proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Babcock.

Kyra Cavender made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Neujahr, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Port Charlotte came up short against Venice on Wednesday and fell 7-3.
Port Charlotte saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylin Pinedo, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Oasis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Port Charlotte, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Port Charlotte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oasis has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .528. It's a different story for Port Charlotte, though, as they've only averaged .324. Will they be able to contain Oasis' hitters?
Oasis might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Port Charlotte in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
