On Saturday, the Lake Norman Wildcats faced the A.C. Reynolds Rockets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lake Norman walked away with a 57-48 win over A.C. Reynolds. The win was just business as usual for Lake Norman, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
Lake Norman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Shehan, who scored 18 points. The match was Shehan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Rhyne, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds.
A.C. Reynolds' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Wilcox, who scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Tait Harvey, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lake Norman's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for A.C. Reynolds, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Lake Norman will head out on the road to face off against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A.C. Reynolds will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
