Emerald Ridge is a perfect 4-0 against Bonney Lake since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Jaguars will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Emerald Ridge made easy work of Curtis and carried off a 19-1 victory. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Taylor Robillard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Payton Robillard was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Emerald Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Bonney Lake never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Bethel with a sharp 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Morgan Berg, who went 3-for-4 with two triples and three runs. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Lee, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Emerald Ridge pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bonney Lake, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Emerald Ridge's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Jaguars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bonney Lake, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Emerald Ridge continue to outrun the ball?
Emerald Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Bonney Lake in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
