Hernando Christian Academy has gone 7-1 against Real Life Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Hernando Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on Thursday, falling 30-17. Even if the Lions couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Piper Gill led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while going 4-for-5. Gianna Lalane also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Real Life Christian Academy was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Legacy Charter as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Raptors have won ten matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Daniella Delgadillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sophie Sullivan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Rylee Lyon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Real Life Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Real Life Christian Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Hernando Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hernando Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Real Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .546. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
