After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridge Community, the Mater Brighton Lakes Academy Broncos were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Winter Haven Christian, posting a 59-21 victory at home.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy can attribute much of their success to Delianie Diaz, who scored 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least 25% of Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's points. Caitlyn Mays was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Winter Haven Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will square off against Varsity Opponent at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Winter Haven Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Excel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
