The Lafayette Rams came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 67-63 W over Grafton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jarquez Garrett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Asa Fehrenbach, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Grafton, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Poquoson has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 12. As for Grafton, they will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warhill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Clippers are ranked 50th).
