Football Recap: Hickory Skates Past Foard with Ease

While Hickory put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Foard. The Red Tornadoes simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 50-0. That 50 point margin sets a new team best for the Red Tornadoes this season.

Hickory's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaheem Jenkins led the charge by rushing for 118 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Jahkyran Weaver was in the mix as well, providing Hickory with two TDs.

Hickory pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for Foard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hickory is set to challenge their familiar foe North Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That match will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jenkins and Landen Agee. Meanwhile, Foard will take on rival Maiden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
