The Duchesne Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. Their rough 74-54 defeat to Gunnison Valley might stick with them for a while. Duchesne was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gunnison Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
It was another big night for Tyson Tucker, who scored 20 points for Gunnison Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyce Hill, who scored 12 points.
Duchesne's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9. As for Gunnison Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.
Duchesne will be playing at home against North Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Sevier is coming into the contest with six straight losses on the road, meaning Duchesne will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Gunnison Valley, they will take on North Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunnison Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully North Summit likes a good challenge.
