Bremerton hasn't had much luck against Olympic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bremerton is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Sequim on Friday. The Knights put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 34-12 victory.
It was another big night for Kenneth Najera, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bremerton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 407 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Olympic came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 40-24. The Trojans pushed the score to 40-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.
Bremerton better keep an eye on Chace Webster. He was instrumental in Olympic's win, rushing for 257 yards and four scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 44 receiving yards and one touchdown. Webster is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season.
Bremerton's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Olympic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Bremerton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 260.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Olympic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 229.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
