The Fatima Comets won the last time they faced the Owensville Dutchmen, and things went their way on Thursday too. Fatima walked away with a 41-31 victory over Owensville. Given Fatima's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Owensville is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alli Robertson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Robertson has scored at least 25% of Fatima's points. Another player making a difference was Vivan Bax, who scored 11 points.
Fatima has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Owensville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Fatima will take on St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Owensville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Steelville on Monday. Steelville and Owensville are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
