The Barrington Fillies/Broncos put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Naperville Central. Given Barrington's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Naperville Central is ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dillon Fitzpatrick was his usual excellent self, rushing for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Fitzpatrick is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Barrington's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-2 Warren Township and 8-3 Prospect (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.5% over those games). As for Naperville Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Barrington will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Maine South at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Maine South's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. Naperville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
