It was a perfect week for the MaxPreps power rankings: not a single team changed position in spite of last week's action. The action included a dizzyingly high 106-point combined score from Belfry and Lexington Catholic.
Can't Touch This
Central's 56 - 0 win over Bardstown last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Mykah Williams. Williams earned five touchdowns and 255 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Williams among the top power-ranked players for the week.
A
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Owensboro (14th in the power rankings) took on Bowling Green (20th) last week. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Owensboro beat Bowling Green 28 - 21. One of the main ringleaders for Owensboro was senior Will Warren, who threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
South Warren has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It breezed past Grayson County with a final score of 55 - 21. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected South Warren as the clear winner. With 13 consecutive wins, South Warren boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game

The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Highlands and Covington Catholic can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
