The Bentley Phoenix lost against the Athenian Owls last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bentley ended up on the wrong side of a tough 59-37 walloping at the hands of Athenian. Bentley has not had much luck with Athenian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Athenian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Surya Devasenapathy led the charge by scoring 17 points. Noah Olivier was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Bentley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Athenian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Bentley will head out on the road to take on Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bentley is facing Concord at the right time seeing as Concord is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Athenian, they will play host again and welcome College Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. College Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 694th, while Athenian is ranked 316th).
