Gage Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Josiah Rodriguez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Vaniddekinge, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Sedgwick County's offense. They came up short against Wray on Monday, falling 12-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dayspring Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Sedgwick County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dayspring Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. However, it's not like Sedgwick County struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dayspring Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Sedgwick County in their previous meeting back in May of 2018, winning 14-10. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
