The Moore Catholic Mavericks were the 50-41 winner over the Notre Dame Academy Gators when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Moore Catholic fell to Notre Dame Academy 53-47.
Moore Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brianna Caliri, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds, and Veronica Barbato who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Caliri's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Costanzo, who scored six points along with three steals.
Moore Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Notre Dame Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Moore Catholic will take on South Bronx Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Notre Dame Academy is ranked 35th).
