The Desert Heights Prep Yote suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by North Valley Christian Academy on the road and fell 91-58. Desert Heights Prep has not had much luck with North Valley Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
North Valley Christian Academy was led to victory by Jethro Maerina and Bobby Rodriguez. Maerina scored 21 points along with four steals, while Rodriguez scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maerina has scored all season. Zathan Ruffin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Desert Heights Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with that win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
Desert Heights Prep will head out on the road to challenge Anthem Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Valley Christian Academy, North Valley Christian Academy and San Pasqual Valley will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Pasqual Valley has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
