Plattsburgh is 3-0 against Chazy since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Plattsburgh Hornets the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Chazy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Plattsburgh earned a 53-45 win over Ticonderoga. The win was all the more spectacular given Plattsburgh's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Ticonderoga is ranked 120th).
Meanwhile, Chazy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They had just enough and edged Boquet Valley out 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Chazy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly LaPierre, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LaPierre has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Rentas, who scored 12 points.
The victory got Plattsburgh back to even at 5-5. As for Chazy, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Plattsburgh against Chazy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 64-28 win. Will Plattsburgh repeat their success, or does Chazy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
