Porter-Gaud waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ashley Hall Panthers. The Cyclones have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.
Porter-Gaud had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19.
Amelia Finnegan and Liza Hood certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Finnegan had eight digs and one assist, while Hood had nine kills. Hood is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. Maclane Applegate also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.
Porter-Gaud's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Ashley Hall, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
