It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-35, which was the final score in Topsail's tilt against Hoggard on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Brunswick was beaten by Laney 71-33 on Tuesday. South Brunswick was down 56-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Johnson, who scored ten points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.
Topsail has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for South Brunswick, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.
Topsail strolled past South Brunswick when the teams last played back in January by a score of 65-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Johnson, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
