After a string of four wins, the True North Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Humble Christian 58-54. True North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Humble Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Thursday.
True North's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Parks, who scored 19 points. Parks scored a full 35.2% of True North's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Palmer was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 18 rebounds and 5 steals.
Even though they lost, True North were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Humble Christian only pulled down eight.
Leading Humble Christian to victory were Kyron Williams and Noah Vickers. Williams scored 22 points along with 5 steals, while Vickers dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baylee Sandvig, who scored 6 points.
True North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Humble Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. True North will square off against Banff at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Banff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Thursday. As for Humble Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bob Hope at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bob Hope will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
