Granby Memorial has gone a perfect 5-0 against East Windsor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Granby Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Granby Memorial's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northwestern Regional with a sharp 11-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Amanda Bristol made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Bristol was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Vitelli, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ellison Haury, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Granby Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, East Windsor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Windsor Locks, falling 22-0.
Granby Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for East Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
