Softball Recap: Indian Creek Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Indian Creek can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bellaire Big Reds as they made off with an 11-4 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redskins also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Payton Rath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, McKenna Scott was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since April 2nd. Another player making a difference was Riley Sadler, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Indian Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 6-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Indian Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Bellaire, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Creek will challenge Wheeling Park at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellaire, they will take on River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
