Basketball Game Preview: Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans vs. Brunswick Academy Vikings

Kerr-Vance Academy is 1-6 against Brunswick Academy since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brunswick Academy Vikings at 5:30 p.m.

Kerr-Vance Academy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They fell 61-48 to Halifax Academy. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kerr-Vance Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of M.J. Wright, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, and Lj Siplen, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Wright has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Richardson, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Brunswick Academy beat Southampton Academy 66-54 on Thursday.

Brunswick Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
