Hawk Came Up Big in Calipatria's 44-24 Victory
Starting off the list is Calipatria's Dominic Hawk, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hawk rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Hawk and Calipatria will challenge Vincent Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawk will face off against Patricio Carranza, the Scots' star signal caller. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

A Season-Best Performance from Juan Perez Leads Calipatria over Palo Verde Valley
Calipatria was led to victory by Juan Perez, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Perez rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
This season, Perez has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 76.1 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 6.29 rushing yards per game.

Holtville Wins 15th-Straight Thanks to Alonso Cuevas
Holtville picked up their 15th consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Alonso Cuevas. Cuevas rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 125 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Holtville's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Cuevas will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Palo Verde Valley on Thursday.

Lucio Ascolani Turns in Another Game with at Least Ten Total Tackles
Lucio Ascolani continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his 21st-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least ten total tackles. He made 21 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended three passes.
Ascolani must have Holtville's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Ascolani saw the Vikings), he made 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended five passes.

Armas Posts Huge Game in 52-14 Win
Holtville picked up their 15th consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Enrique Armas. Armas did his part (and then some), rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Armas and Holtville will welcome Palo Verde Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Armas will face off against Christian Richards, the Yellow Jackets' star RB. Will the game be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.
