Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Iowa Yellowjackets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 45-21 defeat at the hands of the Griffins on Friday. Iowa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
It was another big night for Luke Delafield, who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes for North DeSoto. Delafield has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Cole Cory did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Iowa's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for North DeSoto, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Iowa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North DeSoto has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Opelousas at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Opelousas is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
