Basketball Recap: Jamal Pickering's Big Game Can't Quite Lead SWCHA S over Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool

SWCHA S lost against Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The SWCHA S Saints took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool are ranked 132nd).

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamal Pickering, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The match was Pickering's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elliot Priebe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, SWCHA S smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

SWCHA S has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

SWCHA S will challenge Oakhill Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool has already played their next matchup (against Bowler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
