Nashville is 10-0 against Anna-Jonesboro since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Nashville Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats at 7:45 p.m.
Last Monday, Nashville came up short against Mater Dei and fell 46-37. It was the first time this season that Nashville let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Anna-Jonesboro entered their tilt with Johnston City with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Anna-Jonesboro took down Johnston City 51-32 on Saturday. Given Anna-Jonesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Johnston City is ranked 579th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nashville's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Nashville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Anna-Jonesboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nashville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
