The Omaha Westside Warriors were the 64-42 winner over the Kearney Bearcats when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Omaha Westside fell to Kearney 59-54.
Kearney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kelsey Hatcher out in front who scored 15 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hatcher has scored at least 25% of Kearney's points. Another player making a difference was Kennidy Garner, who scored 12 points.
Omaha Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Kearney, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Westside will face off against Omaha Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kearney, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
