Broadalbin-Perth had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it 12. They came up short against the Hudson Falls Tigers, falling 14-8. Even though they lost, the Patriots' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Adrianna Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Marley Morin, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
As for Hudson Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Hudson Falls' side, Lainey Dunbar made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Dunbar was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Eggleston, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Brooke Jarvis was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Broadalbin-Perth is set to challenge their familiar foe Gloversville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hudson Falls will take on rival Queensbury at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
