Defeat or not, Colonial Heights got some senior leadership from Bret Lipscomb and Cameron Hartsoe. Lipscomb shot 50% from the field en route to 20 points, while Hartsoe went 6-for-15 to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lipscomb has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Pepper, who posted seven points and five boards.
Meanwhile, Matoaca waltzed into their contest two weeks ago with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Monarchs 63-60. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly three points.
Matoaca's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Colonial Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
