Softball Recap: Live Oak Wins Going Away Against Oak Grove

Live Oak was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oak Grove on Wednesday. The Live Oak Acorns blew past the Oak Grove Eagles 12-1. Considering the Acorns have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Chapman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Svoboda, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Chapman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Live Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Grove only managed three hits.

Live Oak's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Oak Grove, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Live Oak will head out to face off against Del Mar at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Live Oak's pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so Del Mar's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Grove, they will host Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.
