Baseball Game Preview: Quaker Valley Quakers vs. Beaver Falls Tigers

The Quaker Valley Quakers will square off against the Beaver Falls Tigers at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Quaker Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Sewickley Academy. The result was nothing new for the Quakers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Nolan Wagoner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Finamore, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Oscar Roig, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Quaker Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beaver Falls never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sto-Rox last Tuesday. They blew past the Vikings 11-1.

Quaker Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Beaver Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything went Quaker Valley's way against Beaver Falls in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Quaker Valley made off with a 12-3 win. Do the Quakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
