Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Mount Calvary Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 53-33 loss courtesy of the Heritage Christian Academy Patriots. Sadly, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-36 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mount Calvary Christian Academy lost, don't look at Carson Howell. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Howell is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Graylen Pierce, who posted eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Buetow, who had 13 points. Bryce Anderson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-23 victory against Great Hope Baptist on the 4th. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-50 defeat against Victory Christian on the 4th.
