On the hitting side, Jackson Pearce was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Smith, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Mountain Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2025.
Mission Bay hit Canyon Crest Academy with a six-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ravens lost 15-5 to the Buccaneers.
Cole Leshner made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Hudson Jin was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
Canyon Crest Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Mountain Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
