The Douglas Eagles will face off against the Oneonta Redskins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Douglas came out on top against Geraldine on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Eagles took their matchup against the Bulldogs 6-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Bella Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mollie Kate Driver, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oneonta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over Pennington. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Oneonta also let their pitcher toss all eight innings and she was also dialed-in: Ali Such gave up four earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Karsyn Towns was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Briley Aguirre was another key player, going 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Oneonta's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
Douglas couldn't quite get it done against Oneonta in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
