On Friday, South-Doyle ended up a good deal behind Tri-Cities Christian and lost 61-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South-Doyle has scored all season.
Tri-Cities Christian was led to victory by Lofton Looney and Christopher Mulombela. Looney scored 17 points, while Mulombela dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cross Chadwick, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
South-Doyle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Tri-Cities Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
South-Doyle and Knoxville Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Knoxville Central is ranked 115th, while South-Doyle is ranked 118th). As for Tri-Cities Christian, they will be playing at home against Knoxville Catholic at 8:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
