The Webberville Spartans lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-43 walloping at the hands of Durand. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Webberville has scored all season.
Markell Tate continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Durand, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Tate is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Darius Aldrich was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Webberville now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Durand, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webberville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Durand, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ovid-Elsie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
