Tate and Milton are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Aggies are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Tate has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Tate took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pace, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Aggies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Patriots on Friday. That's two games straight that the Aggies have won by just one run.
Lance Brady spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Tate's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cal Foxworth, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Milton got the win against Pine Forest on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.
Milton got a big performance out of Brayden Barrow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Barrow a new career-high. Parker McCoy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Milton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Tate's record is now 15-5. As for Milton, their record now sits at 8-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tate has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Milton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
