It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the La Grange Leopards can now relate to. They were dealt a 55-7 defeat at the hands of Madisonville on Thursday. While losing is never fun, La Grange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 686th, while Madisonville is ranked 186th).
Madisonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Williams, who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 110 yards and a touchdown. Jakeithon Owens did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
La Grange are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Madisonville, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
