Mount Carmel will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Central Columbia, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The RED TORNADOES walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Bluejays on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the RED TORNADOES in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won three in a row.
Noah Shimko looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lukas Carpenter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jon Morgante was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Montoursville won against Jersey Shore on Monday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Warriors didn't even let Milton on the board, marking the Warriors' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brody Aldenderfer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Montoursville got a massive performance out of Jimmy Mussina, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kane Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Montoursville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milton only posted a batting average of .077.
Montoursville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Mount Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mount Carmel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Montoursville struggles in that department as they've averaged .508. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
