Lowell's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Wheeler as they made off with a 10-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Red Devils have won by exactly ten runs.
Gavin Gutierrez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gutierrez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Zack Smith looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Lowell: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-13-1 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Brooker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Camden Mikulich, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Lowell's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-15-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Kankakee Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12-1 record this season.
