The Satsuma Gators lost against the Chickasaw Chieftains back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Satsuma ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of the Chieftains. Satsuma has not had much luck with the Chieftains recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chickasaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydrus Gilmore, who scored nine points along with four steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Gilmore posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Marvin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Satsuma has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-22 record this season. As for Chickasaw, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satsuma will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. As for Chickasaw, they will face off against the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robertsdale is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
