Cristo Rey St. Viator suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Moapa Valley at home and fell 64-14. While losing is never fun, Cristo Rey St. Viator can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Moapa Valley is ranked 13th).
The losing side was boosted by Regina Madrigal, who scored 14 points. That was a full 100% of Cristo Rey St. Viator's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Mountain View Christian, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a 30-12 bruising from Sandy Valley on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain View Christian in their matchups with Sandy Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Keiva Feingold was Mountain View Christian's leading scorer, having posted six points. Feingold held things down on the boards with three rebounds.
Cristo Rey St. Viator dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Mountain View Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Cristo Rey St. Viator was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain View Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 27-14.
