Potomac Senior and Charles J. Colgan are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Potomac Senior Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Charles J. Colgan Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Potomac Senior has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Potomac Senior didn't have too much trouble with Gar-Field on the road as they won 55-41.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Potomac Senior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Saliyah Freeman, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Allen, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Charles J. Colgan can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-20 win over Hylton on the road. Given Charles J. Colgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Hylton is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Brianna Long, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Nadia Grant was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Potomac Senior is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Charles J. Colgan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.
Potomac Senior couldn't quite finish off Charles J. Colgan in their previous matchup on Tuesday and fell 53-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Long, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds.
