Karina Shuster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.
