Softball Recap: Mo Overbey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Aragon

Woodside's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Aragon Dons a 10-0 shutout. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Hannah Walker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Mo Overbey was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Carlos, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Woodside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Woodside's record now sits at 12-7. As for Aragon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Woodside is set to face off against their familiar foe King's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Aragon will challenge rival San Mateo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
