Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jim Thorpe). They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Moravian Academy Lions on Tuesday. With that win, the Olympians brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Cole Lazorick was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Jim Thorpe: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tanner MoDavis, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Jim Thorpe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Jim Thorpe pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Moravian Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Jim Thorpe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 loss against Saucon Valley on the 16th. As for Moravian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-0 defeat against Bangor on the 16th.
