The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Wisner-Pilger Gators on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Gators. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has struggled against Wisner-Pilger recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mallory Eriksen. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eriksen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tali Erwin, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Wisner-Pilger, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-12.
