After only seven points in their last match, The Crisp County Cougars made sure to put some points up on the board against the Columbus Blue Devils on Friday. Crisp County claimed a resounding 46-7 victory over Columbus on the road. Given Crisp County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Columbus is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crisp County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hagan Slimp, who threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. Cj Jones was in the mix as well, providing Crisp County with two touchdowns.
Crisp County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Columbus, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Crisp County will be playing in front of their home fans against Thomasville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomasville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Columbus, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
